St. Mary’s Chiga Catholic Parish is a vibrant and welcoming faith community nestled within the Kisumu East Deanery of the Archdiocese of Kisumu. Rooted in deep Christian values and guided by a strong spirit of unity, the parish joyfully serves a Catholic population of approximately 2,500 faithful, fostering a sense of belonging, faith, and shared mission among its members.

The parish is currently shepherded by four devoted missionary priests, whose pastoral dedication and spiritual leadership continue to inspire both clergy and laity alike. They are ably supported by four seminarians, a hopeful sign of a flourishing vocation culture within the parish, as well as several religious sisters who generously offer their talents in pastoral care, education, and social outreach. Together, this committed team ensures that the spiritual, moral, and social needs of the faithful are attentively met.

Conveniently located along the Rabour–Kibos Road, St. Mary’s Chiga Catholic Parish extends its pastoral reach through nine vibrant outstation centers, bringing the Gospel closer to the people. The parish’s evangelizing mission is further strengthened by the tireless service of about 20 dedicated catechists, who play a vital role in faith formation, sacramental preparation, and community evangelization.

Through reverent worship, sound catechesis, active participation, and compassionate service, St. Mary’s Chiga Catholic Parish continues to nurture spiritual growth, strengthen Christian fellowship, and build a faith-filled community grounded in love, hope, and service to God and neighbor.
